Canoes, Birthdays and Medifast

I’ve decided to stop titling my daily Medifast journal as day whatever as it is starting to seem boring to me.  I don’t want to get into a rut and lose interest so I’ll try to spice some things up a bit.  I’ll start adding some pictures as well.

Maybe combining a daily thought or so with my Medifast journey will make it more exciting for you the reader as well.  Maybe.

So, today was day #14 and all in all not a bad day.  We celebrated my wife’s birthday by doing something she enjoys; being outdoors and meandering lazily down a river in a canoe.  It was a picture perfect day although a bit hot.  95 and sunny equals nice sunbathing weather or blistering hot torcher (a play on the word torture, lol) depending on your attitude, inclination and level of applied sunblock.

Canoeing with family. We let the river current do a lot of the work but the paddling we did have to do left my shoulders a bit tweaked although not nearly as bad as I thought they would be.  I had my Lean & Green for lunch which gave me a bit of extra energy for the couple of hours we were on the river and I moved my 5th Medifast Meal to early afternoon for extra calories although I ended up being hungry later in the evening and even woke up in the middle of the night with my belly grumbling.  It was well worth the price though to enjoy the afternoon outside with the family.

I’m am happy to get back on schedule for the week tomorrow, however.  I can see now that the weekends are going to be my downfall as I prophesied in the beginning.  I’m going to have to try harder during those times to maintain my schedule.

I still haven’t gotten my scale and that is on my list of things to do over lunch tomorrow.  An added benefit to the Medifast plan that I hadn’t thought of is that I have an extra hour during the day where I can get things done instead of having to go out and sit at a restaurant to eat.  Bonus!
